The Voss Marine Invertebrate Collection is an extensive repository for the diverse populations of marine invertebrates across the tropical Atlantic and eastern tropical Pacific regions. As such, it serves as a critical resource for current and future research into phylogenetics, biocomplexity, conservation, and sustainable management of marine resources. To revitalize and enhance the accessibility of the museum, we are in the process of improving the preservation of our physical samples and digitizing the contents of our collection in its entirety. To accomplish these goals, funding has been received from the University of Miami as well as the grants seen below:

  • CREATE Grant (Fall 2019)
Title: Preservation, Digitization and Education Through the RSMAS Invertebrate Museum
  • NSF Grant #2001892
Title: Digitization TCN: Collaborative Research: Documenting Marine Biodiversity through Digitization of Invertebrate Collections (DigIn)
  • NSF Grant #2001523
Title: Digitization TCN: Collaborative Research: Mobilizing Millions of Marine Mollusks of the Eastern Seaboard
